The Keene Area Safety Patrol (previously known as the Keene Crime Watch Bike Patrol) is a volunteer group that works in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies as extra eyes, to enhance trail, parks and bike route safety. This is accomplished primarily by bicycle but also utilizing pedestrians and other modes in order that year round coverage might be provided.

Since its establishment in 1996 the organization has provided hundreds of hours of protection for the citizens of the Keene area.The membership is not known which allows for better security. Fires, illegal use of motorized vehicles, drug happenings and other safety issues are of concern of the Patrol and when observed are reported to the authorities.
